My International client is seeking a Business Development Professional to leverage the company's exisitng presence and significantly grow the Northeast, US market, specifically the Greater NYC area.  

The Company

My client is based internationally and currently has a presence in the Greater New York City market. My client has offered state-of-the-art Architectural Metal solutions for a wide range of building developments. They have an advanced and specialized fabrication process which provides multi-faceted solutions for various project types including Commercial, Retail, Healthcare, Education, Museum and Residential Projects. Their capabilities include Design & Engineering, Project Management, Fabrication and Installation.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting a Business Development Professional, someone who will leverage the company’s existing presence and significantly grow the Northeast, US market, specifically Greater New York Area. The ideal candidate will be able to lead and manage the business development activities which includes promotion of the business, sales, and marketing. The ideal candidate will collaborate with the President and Estimating Managers, in addition to the President and CEO. You will be expected to search out, pursue and secure the most realistic projects which best fit with the resources available to deliver those projects.  You would require a mid-level of technical knowledge to communicate both internally and externally to customers, architects and suppliers, for the purpose of delivering solutions in a cost-effective manner.  


Overall the Business Development Professional will define and implement a Business Development plan and vision which may include the hiring of new personnel, marketing and sales. You will liaise with the President’s and Estimating Managers to deliver a longer-term sales forecast and create rolling quarterly 12 month forecasts with the Controller. You will Consult bi-weekly with Presidents and Estimating Managers to discuss projects being pursued, and ensure we maintain an information base and action plan to monitor sales activity and performance.

Identifying new business and pursuing it will be key. Develop and maintain a strong network among the industry including competitors, suppliers, GC’s, architects and property developers/owners and promote my client as a professional and preferred company. You will attend preliminary meetings with potential customers on individual projects to both promote my client, offer technical support, advise and gather information to ensure my client becomes the preferred bidder. The role is much more than identifying the project and securing the company as a bidder, it is to play the critical liaison role to that is technical in nature to ensure we have the right information to bid/price each job. Actively promote my client to those companies (GC’s, architects and property developers/owners) who would likely be able to provide work for my client or promote them for securing work.


  • Minimum of 8-10 years sales experience in the construction and building envelope industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, selling and team building skills is a requirement.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent decision making skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office programs and other Industry software’s.
  • Ability to lead and work within a deadline and schedule driven environment
  • Demonstrated competency in the following:
