New York City-based interior design studio is seeking a Senior Designer. My client designs residential and hospitality interior experiences for exciting projects of all scales. 

The Senior Designer will be responsible for managing the design process for multiple projects, from programming and space planning, concept through CA phases. We are seeking a passionate, hands on, highly motivated and creative designer. Applicants must possess the attributes below. 

  • 4-year Bachelor Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture. 
  • 8+ years of post-graduate experience on high rise residential, preferably in the NYC market. Hotel design experience would be a plus, but must have at least 3 completed and interesting high rise residential projects from beginning to end. 
  • Concept design and idealization experience, modern aesthetic, formulating project storylines, mood imagery and 3D sketching (hand or computer). 
  • Excellent sense of custom interior millwork and stone detailing as it relates aesthetics as well as functionality and buildability. 
  • Excellent sense of color, finishes and materials, and design detailing. 
  • Experienced with FF&E sourcing both mid to luxury level. 
  • Experienced at sourcing finish materials. Existing relationships with NYC vendors is an absolute must. 
  • Interest and knowledge in innovation and new products. 
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe and Microsoft software. 
  • Ability to complete drawings and details by hand and in AutoCAD, and contribute to overall drawing sets for Concept through Design Development phases. 
  • Think out of the box, work efficiently on multiple projects within project budgets and schedules, and is experienced with value engineering design solutions 
  • Excellent presentation skills and heavy client interaction; both verbal and written. 
  • Solid experience and interest in managing project, teams and tasks, and mentoring staff. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and management and mentor abilities, strong organizational capabilities, and enjoy working in a drama free and team-oriented environment.
