Candidate FAQS
Do you provide advice on resumes and interview techniques?
Yes, absolutely. During our initial discussions we will review your resume/portfolio to ensure you have the optimal format and content. Thorough interview preparation is essential and we will help you ensure a solid understanding of the firm, position and expectations.
Is there any cost to me as a job seeker?
No. Opus charges our client a fee to introduce our candidates to them. As such, our service is completely free to you.
Do you place contract / temporary workers?
No. We only place people in direct hire permanent positions.
What kind of companies do you work with?
We work with any company who is in the Architecture or Interior Design industry. These companies include architecture and interior design firms, real estate developers and end users. We only work with firms who have solid reputations, ranging from small boutique firms of 5 people through to some of the largest design companies in the world.
Do you send my resume out without permission?
No. We only send your resume to companies that you have given us permission to do so. Before sending your resume, we brief you fully on the vacancy and the hiring firm, so that we can ascertain if the opportunity is the right fit for you or not.
Client FAQS
What positions do you cover?
We recruit any level position within the Architecture & Interior Design industry, but we specialize in senior and intermediate level positions.
Do you fill contract vacancies as well as permanent?
We do not work on contract vacancies, because the vast majority of candidates that we present to our clients have been headhunted and are currently working in permanent jobs. As such they would only be interested in moving companies for another permanent job, and not for a contract job.
What do you charge?
It depends on what we do for you. If you engage us on a contingency search, then Opus only charges a fee if we successfully place someone at your organization. The fee is based on an agreed percentage of the first year salary. If you retain us on an executive search, we charge one third of the fee upon acceptance of the assignment, one third of the fee when we present resumes, and one third on completion of the assignment.
Is there a guarantee period?
Yes. We guarantee our placements for 90 days and we have the flexibility to offer either a rebate of the fee, or a free replacement.
Do you provide background checks?
We do not provide criminal background checks, financial credit, or drug screening checks unless specifically requested by the client.
